The Supernals are a prominent Southern gospel music group originating from East Tennessee. Founded in 1967, the group built a lasting legacy in Southern gospel music through church performances, concert appearances, and a collection of well-loved recordings.

Known for their rich harmonies and heartfelt presentation of the Gospel, The Supernals ministered to audiences throughout the Southeast while being supported by an ensemble of talented professional musicians.

In 1989, The Supernals achieved significant national acclaim when they were named runners-up at the National Quartet Convention in Nashville, competing against 72 participating groups from across the country. This recognition helped establish the group as one of the most respected Southern gospel ministries in the region.

The group is best known for their popular recordings "Right Road" and "We'll Meet Again." Their music, written by some of Southern gospel music's most respected songwriters—particularly Supernal member Ray Scarborough—resonated with listeners through it message of faith, hope, and encouragement. Their songs received regular airplay on stations such as Praise 96.3 FM and other gospel radio outlets throughout East Tennessee and the surrounding areas.

Throughout the years, The Supernals traveled extensively throughout the country and beyond, sharing their music and ministry in churches, auditoriums, fairs, festivals, and special events. Their schedule included appearances at notable venues and events such as the Tennessee Valley Fair, Dollywood, Gospel Music Television, and countless churches where they sought to encourage believers and share the message of Christ through song.

More than a musical group, The Supernals have always viewed their work as a ministry. Through decades of service, they have touched countless lives, creating memories that continue to resonate with listeners who remember their music and message.

Today, The Supernals continue their ministry under the leadership of Mark Garner, son of founder Jerry Garner. While honoring the rich heritage established by previous generations, the group remains committed to sharing the timeless message of the Gospel through Southern gospel music.
